SKU 25218217-The Colt Government 1911 A1 is the classic configuration of the legendary Colt 1911 handgun carried by U.S. troops in several wars. The Colt Government 1911 A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol in .22 L.R. is manufactured exclusively by Walther under license from Colt. It is the only genuine Colt tactical rimfire replica available in the world.
Great choice in practicing muscle memory actions and fire group controls for the actual 1911 but affordably with .22LR ammo. Little recoil and expense adds up to major benefits in operating your .45ACP 1911 pistol.
The Colt/Walther Government 1911A1 has a 12-round magazine and a.22LR caliber. It has a zinc alloy frame and an aluminum slide, and it weighs 2.25 pounds empty. OAL is 8.6 inches, and the barrel is 5 inches. Walther estimates the blowback trigger’s weight at 5.5 pounds, though it felt a little heavier when firing a brand-new firearm. Both the front and rear sights are detachable and have drift adjustments. The Walther/Colt includes manual thumb and grip safeties, just as the normal 1911.
As previously mentioned, the Walther/Colt.22LR is made to be a 1:1 replica of the normal 1911 and is compatible with most 1911 accessories.
This has one further benefit.
The M8x.75mm threaded barrel is a copy of the 22. The M8x.75mm threaded barrel is a copy of the 22. The muzzle of this barrel is flush (the barrel does not protrude past the slide), but there is a thread protector on the muzzle end of the pistol that can be twisted off to reveal the muzzle threads. By using a thread adapter or another muzzle device, the user is able to attach a silencer if they so choose. The Walther P22 and Walther PPK/S.22LR share this characteristic.
The fact that Walther has chosen to include this while retaining a fair asking price is a surprising yet very welcome modification because I believe this can’t be an inexpensive addition. As other shooters and silencer owners are aware, purchasing a threaded barrel for a pistol may be expensive.
